SupportOral Language is the Foundation for Literacy
The purpose of this course is to equip teachers with the knowledge of the components of oral language, their impact on literacy, and how to strengthen oral language in the classroom. Most importantly, this course provides teachers with the necessary tools they need to meet the needs of all students, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Emergent Literacy
In this course, teachers will learn about the important emergent literacy skills of phonemic awareness, alphabet knowledge, and concepts of print, also known as print awareness and will be introduced to instructional routines they can use to teach these vital skills.
Monitoring Children’s Progress in Language & Literacy in the Early Years
This course is intended to build teachers’ skills in monitoring/assessing children’s developmental progress, with a focus on language and literacy development.
Data-Driven Instruction
The purpose of this course is to equip teachers with knowledge about data-driven instruction. The course will give teachers tools to implement targeted assessment practices, analyze data and provide explicit instruction in their classrooms.
